2.5inch funnels
Description of 2.5inch funnels
Song Phung’s filter media funnels is simply designed to efficiently load support material (gravel) and filter material (sand, coal, ion exchange resin, etc.) into residential, commercial and industrial water filter tanks with 2.5, 4 inch top openings.

Instructions for using the filter material funnels
- Place the filter tank in the desired position, then level and stabilize the filter tank.
- Install the central riser connected to the bottom distribution before loading the support material.
- Install the filter media funnel into the mouth of the tank, fixing the central tube to the bottom of the funnel. This is necessary to prevent the support material from going down the central riser and affecting the internal distributor. The funnel helps ensure that the riser is centered in the tank before loading the support material.
- Fill the filter tank 1/3 to 1/2 full of water. This will reduce the possibility of damaging the distribution system when loading the support material into the tank, as the weight of the filter material will also affect the quality or looseness of the filter laterals connection thread.
- From the top of the funnel, slowly pour the filter media (gravel, sand, anthracite, garnet, birm, etc.) into the filter tank.
- After loading the required amount of filter material, remove the funnel, clean the filter tank threads and remove the cap from the riser before installing the control valve assembly.
- Filling the system – During the process of filling the water into the pipe, air will be released from the air inlet and vent holes automatically or manually. When the water is filled, the float ball moves up to close and seal the vent hole. With its aerodynamic design and anti-blowout design, the float ball ensures that the air outlet is closed immediately when high-speed air flow occurs.
- Pressure pump system operation – The automatic valves always open/close under water pressure.
- Note on drain pipe installation – When the system or drain pipe is empty, negative pressure is formed in the automatic valve. If a negative pressure valve is installed, the float moves down to suck air to counteract the formation of a vacuum. The vacuum anti-pressure valve works similarly to a one-way valve, allowing air to flow from the outside into the negative pressure air system that appears from the inside, but preventing air or liquid from flowing in the opposite direction from the inside to the outside.
